It's not changing the search engine but just opening google.com after clicking "browse the web" button in the VPN. No settings in the browser are changed. To test this, I suggest you to close all Firefox tabs and then open Firefox from the icon on the desktop or taskbar. Homepage set in the browser will be loaded (in this case DuckDuckGo).
I have also passed on this information as a feedback and it will reach the concerned team.
Hello Margaret,
When you connected to AVG Secure VPN, please check the location/country selected. Also, refer this article https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-your-default-search-settings-firefox to change the search engine after connecting to VPN program.
Please change to a different locations and check if the search engine is changing or not.
My default browser is firefox with duckduckgo as my search engine. When connecting with my vpn on it goes to firefox but with google as search engine. I don't want google, i want duckduckgo. How do I make vpn work for me?

Checked more than one city, when connecting through vpn it still comes up google. Connecting through firefox directly it comes up with default search engine of duckduckgo. Appears there is a problem with vpn/firefox
