VPN does not connect to internet

Thank you for contacting AVG Community Forum. I see you are facing issues with connecting to internet when VPN is ON. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Regarding your concern, changing the location may fix the issue. 
Kindly follow the below steps to change the location to a different server :
> Click Change on the main application screen
> Use the side menu to view all the servers in a specific continent,  or servers that are optimized for streaming.
> Select a country. For countries that offer multiple cities, click the down arrow and select your preferred city.
> Click Change location to confirm the change.
>Your location now shows as the country and city that you selected.
If AVG Secure VPN is still unable to establish a connection, try to uninstall and reinstall the application. For detailed instructions, refer to the following articles:

I'm using Windows 7. When I launch firefox, I am connected to the internet. After 2-3 minutes, AVG VPN automatically connects to a server. At this time, I lose internet capabilities. When I look at the Connection Center Icon on the task bar, it says my router is connected to the internet but my VPN is not. I have to disconnect the VPN to resume internet connection.
