VPN 'license expired' when not expired

Hi Malcolm,

We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
There was a technical glitch in the AVG Secure VPN which led to our customers getting an error 'Maximum Connections Reached'
The issue has been fixed now by our developers.

Your previous AVG Secure VPN subscription was for Windows - 1 Computer, which is about to expire next month.
The recently purchased AVG Secure VPN is Multi Device (Windows, Mac, Android & iOS) - 5 Devices.

Can I cancel the auto renewal for the previous subscription to avoid duplicate billing?

I have been in meltdown this week.  My paid subscription to your VPN was due to expire on 25 September, with automatic billing on 10 September to continue it. WELL - this week, on 25 August, the VPN stopped working. A month early. The error message - "License Expired" I couldn't believe it. It just wouldn't work at all. I tried to type in again the activation code that I already of course had, which it accepted, but when I tried to use the VPN, the same error message again and again. I have had to buy a completely new year's subscription from you in order to get it working again, and so I have paid twice. This was a nightmare, I couldn't use the internet because the now not working VPN couldn't be disengaged and so Firefox (my browser) couldn't connect to any website. What is going on?

Hi, Thank you for your reply.
To begin with, yes please cancel the auto renewal for 10 September for the previous subscription to avoid duplicate billing.
But when you do this, is it likely that my VPN will be disabled on 25 September, saying incorrectly that the licence has expired?? If that happens I will be in the same problem as before. Hopefully the subscription that I was just forced to take out yesterday to make the VPN work again will last the full year until August 28 2021?? That is surely the intention. Please confirm.

Thank you for the confirmation, Malcolm.
