Please uninstall AVG Secure VPN by following the steps as mentioned in this article: http://avgread.me/1DEtNP0 .
If you have icon named as "AVG" on desktop screen please double click on it and check whether you get AVG user interface with AVG Antivirus, PC TuneUp, Secure VPN and Password Protection on it.
If you get this interface, please click on Secure VPN and proceed with the installation.
Once it is installed you shouldn't have any trial notices and turn on the privacy protection from its window.

I discovered without re-installing that the program has to be in the OFF position to change locations.
