VPN no internet connection

When you access the internet without a VPN, your computer connection is basically 'naked', as it were. Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) can see what content you access. … However, because the VPN is between you and the content, your ISP will only see you accessing the VPN MyLowesLife (https://www.myloweslife.us/).

Hi Daniel,

I understand this must be upsetting. I will help you to fix it.

I request you change the DNS Server by following the steps below and check if that resolves the issue:

  1. Please press "Windows Key" and "R" together, it will open the "Run" command box.
  2. Now type ncpa.cpl on the run command and click OK.
  3. Select the active network, right click on that and select "Properties".
  4. It will open the Network Properties dialog box.
  5. Under "Networking" tab, look for "Internet Protocol Version(TCP/IPv4)".
  6. Click on Internet Protocol Version(TCP/IPv4), it will enable its properties on the bottom right corner.
  7. Click on "Properties".
  8. Now, enable the "Use the following DNS address" (last radio button).
  9. Now in Preferred DNS server, enter 8.8.8.8 and in the Alternate DNS server, enter 8.8.4.4
  10. Click OK.

I have a similar problem. I bought vpn a few days ago but it never worked. It shuts off my internet. I followed your guideline but it didn't work. (I changed the dns from my own actual internet, not vpn)

I updated my AVG virus protection on 2-13-18 and now my internet explorer and VPN aren't working. I'm still able to access the internet with google chrome and have a strong Wifi signal so i'm not sure what's causing these issues. Iv'e tried restarting my VPN but its still saying it cannot connect and to check my internet connectivity.

Hello Femke,

I understand the inconvenience.
To be sure, is the internet working, if AVG Secure VPN is uninstalled or turned off?
