VPN not allowing email connection

I have just installed VPN, installation went ok, internet OK but not allowing email connection. When sending an email I ge error message “An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: Connection refused - OB115. 185.54.228.57 is blacklisted. If you

Other theads I see seem to relate the no internet but internet ok. I am using Thunderbird for emails

This is an issue with your internet provider and AVG. Once companies figure out the commonly used VPN addresses, they configure their email SMTP servers to block them. Unfortunately many folks use a VPN to send out spam/phishing emails. Some just block the number of recipients you can add to an email. I always have to turn the VPN off to send an email.
