VPN not connecting

My VPN recently would not connect. My internet connection works fine on Chrome.  I tried different locations, then restarting the PC - that worked for a couple days. I uninstalled and reinstalled the VPN.  Now it says 7 day free trial or purchase.  So following the forum's advice, I typed in my subscription code in the 'My Subscription' section.  It says'" something went wrong".  The software acts like it can't connect to the target address.  Even when I did a scan with the antivirus software, it could not finish resolving 'Performance' issues. Can someone help? Eric F
