VPN not functioning

Sorry this has taken so long to reply to, I was frustrated. Ok I'll try to be clearer about this. My network shows a connection. When I try to turn on the VPN, it has in yellow text across the center of app "please connect to the internet to use VPN. " When I try a different location it is the same.
also, when it is working it is painfully slow.

Rrecently I built a brand new desktop computer. So I proceeded to put AVG antivirus and VPN on it as I have current subscriptions to both. I was having major connection issues. The VPN would disconnect and reconnect and not connect at all. I would have internet access but the VPN thought otherwise. So it would refuse to connect and if it wasnt connected I couldn't connect at all. Once I uninstalled it everything worked fine again no connection issues or laggy loading. So now I only have a usable VPN for my phone. It does not like my new desktop with w10 but it doesnt seem to mind the w10 on my crappy laptop which I rarely use. This is just some feed back. I dont plan on using it anymore if all im going to get a bad experience. This couldnt of happened a worse time though. I had one day where It was very important that I get online to fix an account but couldn't and almost lost a lot of money cause of this issue.
