VPN not working

It won't let me save the VPN as a trusted network - AVG Internet Sceurity sees the VPN as an "unidentified" network. it is not even listed. See below. What next?

My paid VPN is not working. It says "obtaining IP address" but never does obtain it. At the same it blocks all other websites so I have to turn it off to browse. This is useless. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling - it makes no difference.

I apologize for the trouble caused.
Please follow instructions below and check if everything works fine on your VPN.
Open the AVG Internet Security > Click on the Web & Email tile > Enhanced Firewall options > Network profiles > make sure your network connection and AVG Secure VPN are selected as a private connection "I trust this network".
