I apologize for the inconvenience caused. Please uninstall AVG Secure VPN via control panel as per this article ( https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlName=How-to-uninstall-AVG ).
Then reinstall it as per the steps mentioned below:
1. Please open AVG Free Antivirus and click on home icon at top left corner on it. It will open AVG dashboard.
2. Then please click on Secure VPN tile in AVG dashboard and click on 'Try it for free' to get it installed in your PC.

I've just purchased the free trial Secure VPN. The Off button will not turn on. I get a tiny window that says "loading", but it never does, and the "open browser" button will not work.
