VPN on android devices

Both my cellphone and tablet which are android have under settings for VPN:  1) name, 2) Type server address currently set to PPTP, 3) PPP encryption (MPPE), 4) DNS servers and Forwarding routes
Can VPN be set up on these android devices?

Please be informed that currently we have AVG Secure VPN only for windows computer. We do not have AVG Secure VPN application for android devices.
