Hi Colin,
We apologies for the delay in response.
We have checked from our end, and there is no known disruption. Also, we tried to replicate the issue, and when connected to the Auckland server, the IP address is showing as New Zealand.
Please resintall AVG Secure VPN and connect to Auckland, disconnect, and reconnect to the same server which instigates a new IP address and check if the websites are connected from New Zealand.
Keep us posted.
Hello Colin,
We'll certainly look into this for you.
It would be better to assist you if you could help us with some information. May I know the location which you configured in AVG Secure VPN? Did you try changing the location and surf the internet? Is this issue occur only with few websites or with all?
Awaiting for your reply!
I have tried both: Auckland New Zealand (optimal location) and Auckland New Zealand. Most sites don't care where I come from but some do. It has happened where online stores want to send me to their Australian operation because they see me as coming from there. Another is when an online streaming service in NZ says you can't view this video in your region.
My VPN set up says I'm in Auckland but websites see me as coming from Australia and stop me downloading or streaming.
Colin, we have escalated the case to our senior team.
We will get back to you once we get a reply from them.
Your patience is appreciated.
I don't understand why I should have to jump through hoops to take advantage of services that I have subscribed to or are free in NZ. You haven't answered my question about the IP you are using for me.
I ask again why is it showing an IP address not in New Zealand's allocated range. Surely that is a technical error which shouldn't be too difficult to fix. Please fix it.
Maybe I haven't been too clear about the problem. I haven't actually said that I live in New Zealand but I do and I want and expect my secure VPN to reflect that fact… If you can't or won't fix the problem please tell me who I should approach to cancel my subscription and obtain a refund.
My Ipconfig reports: Secure VPN IPv4 address 100.120.248.221. I found that this address is missing from the IP addresses allocated to New Zealand. Can it be fixed?

We're glad to clarify this for you, Colin.
Unfortunately, certain streaming services has taken counter measures to block its users from accessing its content through Secure VPN servers. while we do continue to add new servers and ip addresses, they are quite fast to identify the same. However, you can try connecting to streaming servers that are available in our Secure VPN to check if it hellps.
Colin, we understand your concern.
