James, "Waiting for watchdog service startup fail"… Assume you've totally uninstalled Norton?.. Also just in case there are any Norton remnants left after the uninstall download & run the Norton removal tool (https://support.norton.com/sp/en/uk/home/current/solutions/kb20080710133834EN_EndUserProfile_en_us).

So my family and I got AVG since our Norton was expiring and it installed on to my phone and everything, but when it comes to my laptop it doesn't want to install. Can anyone help me?

Hello James. Sorry to know that. This issue might occur if you have installed any other conflicting third party security software in your computer. Please check in control panel and remove any other antivirus program present. Then, try to install AVG in your computer and you will be able to install it.
