Web Protection "not installed" AVG Free 2016

Well, Alan, in Add/Remove Programs (XP) and Programs & Features (Win 7) there are two entries for AVG : one is just "AVG" and the other is "AVG Protection" but, since I posted this query, I found out that "AVG" is, in fact, AVG Zen, so my mistake!

I have two computers set up as a network, one of which runs Win 7 64 bit and the other Win XP Home Edition 32 bit.  I have AVG Free and AVG Protection installed on both computers and the AVG control panel on Win 7 shows Web and Identity Protection as active.  However, on the Win XP machine, Web Protection is showing "not installed" and Identity "Not Protected".  I have tried running Repair but it has made no difference.  Now, I do not use the XP computer for accessing the internet, although Internet Explorer is installed, nor do I run an email client (Outlook Express) on that machine.  The machine still needs access to the internet, though, to update the AVG database and other software, and to connect to/from my Win 7 machine, so it is connected to a router.
Can anyone explain why AVG Free on my XP is not fully-functioning, please?

Thank you for the further information, Balasubramanian, but a couple of questions, please :
Presumably, running the AVG Identity removal tool will remove only that component?
So, when I reinstall AVG Antivirus Free x86 964 will it only reinstall that component, or will the whole program be overwritten?  Incidentally, during my previous attempts to reinstall AVG, I ran AVG Remover.exe twice, and still got the same error code.  However, the version I downloaded from AVG's website is avg_remover-stf-x86_16_7134.exe.  This is 3906KB in size, whereas the version you have given the link to above not only has a different name but is also 7632 KB.  Did I run the wrong version?

Kate, Quote "I have AVG Free and AVG Protection installed on both computers"… Why do you have AVG Free installed when AVG Protection Free includes AVG AntiVirus Free & AVG Protection PRO includes AVG Internet Security?.

Kate,
We are glad to know that the Identity component got enabled after trying IDP remover tool but we couldn't understand your question.
You have installed the AVG antivirus successfully on your Windows XP and you don't wish to have the Link Scanner enabled for it, am I right?

Your computer will be restarted automatically. After the restart, AVG Remover will finish the uninstallation.
NOTE: Once the AVG Remover Tool has done with its process. Please go to the C drive and look for a folder named as "AVG Remover" and I request you to delete it manually.

BTW,  if I click "Fix It" in the AVG UI I get the message "We weren't able to fix one or more components."  Also, Identity Protection is activated in Options/Advanced.

Yes, that is right.  As I do not use the XP computer for accessing the internet, or have an email account on it, I never have to click any external links, so the Link Scanner is superfluous - as is the Email Scanner.

I have now run AVGIDPUninstaller and Repair.  It didn't go as smoothly as I hoped, because AVG locked up and was not responding when it updated its databases.  I had to End Task and restart the computer, but when I opened AVG after the restart, Identity Protection was active.  So, many thanks, Balasubramanian.

I don't think I will bother to install LinkScanner since, as I mentioned earlier, I do not use my XP computer to access the internet or to send/receive emails.  In fact, I suppose I could turn off Email Scanner as well.  Any downloading is done from my Win 7 computer, scanned and then copied over to XP if necessary.   Indeed, I am now wondering if I need any antivirus software on the XP computer after all.  What do you think?

Thank you for confirming it.
Yes, if you wish to have the Link scanner disabled then you can follow the instructions mentioned in this link: http://avgread.me/1Hemdjc and disable it.
