Since re-installing AVG a couple of days ago to solve a problem with it showing pop-ups reporting my machine as being unsecured, even though everything seemed to be working OK (see AVG Customer Care - Request #12885016), I've had problems logging on to Outlook.
When I've gone to the log-in page (login.live.com), it has failed to display, with the browser saying that the DNS address couldn't be found. Just as an experiment, I set *.live.com as an exception in Web Shield and tried again. And, guess what - I was able to get the page up and log in!
Is this a known issue, and is there a better fix than setting a fairly broad exception that could potentially leave me vulnerable?
It also seems to have created issues with a couple of other sites I visit regularly, with problems accessing the site, and then the CSS not working properly to start with - usually until the page is reloaded.
