Web Shield is preventing me from accessing most websites

Hi. Today I’ve had a strange experience with AVG. I was browsing as normal this when Dell Support Assist asked me to install updates, this I did, but after restarting while I could still browse it all felt sluggish, and a lot of websites will not open at all, such as Amazon and Facebook not opening the login page or being navigable thereafter. I assumed it was a problem with the updates but they didn’t seem connected - a BIOS update, Intel graphics driver, Intel rapid storage technology driver, and MediaTek bluetooth and wifi - my PC is connected via Ethernet. In the end I found out that AVG seemed to be the problem, if I switch Web Shield off everything works fine. So I tried uninstalling everything with AVG Clear in safe mode, complete removal, and then reinstalled but the problem persists. I’m wondering if there was an issue with the AVG update this morning. Any thoughts much appreciated.

ps. I’m using Firefox, but the same thing happens if I use Edge.

Same issue here. It really is a pain as it s been like that for 2 weeks now, all of a sudden.

I gave up waiting for it to be fixed and instead uninstalled AVG in favour of Bitdefender. Not my preferred solution at all, but it works.
