Web Shield Pop Up Notifications

Greetings,

We're sorry for the inconvenience caused. We'll certainly look into this & help you.
Kindly share us the screenshot of the threat pop-up you've been receiving, so that we can check & assist you further.
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on Answer & then click on the Image [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
Also, please clarify whether you have AVG's security programs installed or Avast's.
Even though Avast has acquired AVG, both the companies are entirely different ventures.
If you have Avast's Premium security or Antivirus Free installed, we request you to contact the concerned Avast team directly.
Thank you for understanding in advance. Keep us updated.

It seems that over the last two years AVG has had an ongoing issues with continual pop ups notifying users of malware threats and that the program has intercepted a potential threat to the users computer.

This problem has not been resolved.

Im using a mac book air and have had my laptop looked at by a technician who found no problem with my laptop.

There are several options I can take
  1.  Delete Avast - probably the easiest option
  2. Check my Browser (Goggle) and check pop up notifications
  3. Try to update Avast - to a paid version with no guarantee of a resolution to the issue
  4. Uninstall Google Chrome and reinstall to default settings
  5. Try another browser i.e Firefox
Hopefully others have been down this path and may be able to shed light on this ongoing and incredibly frustrating situation.

Note. Being in a customer service roll the company I work for would fix the product or withdraw it from use, Avast should do the same.
