WebCam works sometimes

Hello Ana,

We will check and help you to resolve it. Could you please confirm whether have you updated any camera driver recently using AVG Driver updater?

If yes, have you tried to restore the driver to old version? Please confirm what are all the AVG programs installed in your device. We look forwarrd for your response.

Hi. Thanks for your answwe (and new question ;) )
Yes, I've downloaded the AVG driver updater... but I did that because I had the problem already.
I'm thinking that maybe it has something to do with the firewall or another area in what AVG is trying to stop programs.

As the camera works fine inside Chrome, it's not a camera driver, though.

Hi.
I have Windows 7 Professional.
About 3-4 weeks ago my webcam doesn't work in skype and Zoom apps. It seems to be on but has no signal and the small green light that shows it's working is off.
If I open those apps as Chrome plugins, they work normally, video included.
Windows Media doesn't work… it shows only the audio screen, even if it´s playing a video.
I've uninstalled and got the latest versions of all and there's no change.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you, Ana.
Please open your AVG AntiVirus Free program.
Click the Web & Email tile on the main application screen.
Click Settings (the gear icon) in the top-right corner of the screen.
Click Basic protection ▸ Enhanced Firewall in the left panel.
Click View Firewall rules.
Select the Basic rules tab.
The Basic rules screen allows you to enable or disable each rule separately for Public (Untrusted) and Private (Trusted) networks.
Kindly enable all the basic rules for both Public (Untrusted) and Private (Trusted) networks.
You can also refer to this article: https://bit.ly/3v0E5x1 on how to enable the basic rules in Firewall settings.
