Website Blocking

Hello Steve,
Thank you for contacting AVG Community Support.
We regret the inconvenience caused. We'll check and help you.
Could you please confirm whether you are getting any error message while accessing the sites?
May I know how long you've been facing this issue?
Also could you please confirm what all AVG programs you have installed on your PC?
Awaiting your response.

Can someone from AVG explain why certain websites that I have always used suddenly become inaccessible.  For example B&Q.  I have never placed this website on the blocked list yet every time I try to browse it the website presents a page that stops me from accessing the site.  Oddly, my other laptop (which runs AVG as well) does not block this website!  For clarity, AVG does not present a website blocked message when this happens and it is not on the website blocked list.  In fact, "enable site blocking" is not even checked.  So what is going on?

interestingly none of these steps have solved the issue.

Hi Lathika

Firstly, the AVG Products I have installed are Anti-track, Internet Security, Tuneup, Secure VPN, Secure Browser (not my default!).

This has been going on for several months now.

The message is from the vendor site… e.g. B&Q

As I said in my OP, no error message for AVG.

Thank you for providing the information, Steve.
We'll certainly check and help you.
Please disable AVG Internet Security using the below steps and check the issue.

  • Right-click the AVG icon in the notification area of your Windows taskbar, then in the menu that appears, click the green slider next to Protection is ON.
  • Click OK, stop to confirm that you want to disable all AVG protection.
  • The slider turns red (OFF), and all AVG components are disabled. AVG protection will re-enable automatically the next time you reboot your PC.
If persists, kindly exit AVG AntiTrack from the system tray and check the issue. (Right click on AVG AntiTrack present in tray and click on exit)
Thank you and keep us updated.
