Hello David,
We do understand your frustration. No need to worry, let us here to help you. Could you please post the URL or name of your website which you have tried to access from your side?
Thank you for understanding.
The site has a bug, when you want to submit a virus sample for analysis on https://secure.avg.com/submit-sample the first time after Submit Query button it will tend to send it and upload the file, but it won't ever finish on that load! After the browser uploaded the file, you will remain on the form page. In order to succesfully send a sample you will need to re-select the infected file, and re-click the SEND QUERY button.
This has been going on for year or more as I remember always assuming AVG got it, and no feedback response like ''Submitting completed, thanks'' simply meant the form was sent when you remain at same, filled-out form after clicking submit.
However, as this doesnt happen, you might lose many virus samples because a gross portion of the users believe it was sent anyways. This website bug is therefore fatal to the amount of samples you receive. Or is it a mechanism of crowd control, the web designers intended it so that less samples successfully reach your virus analysis lab? I would say that'll hurt imago.
BTW, not everyone knows yeah, so when the form webpage doesnt navigate to the page saying its sent succesfully, they got to NOT reload the page and just reselect and re upload file. Then only it works
And ive tried in several PCs and browsers on different location so please dont tell me its only my problem, dont ask me troubleshoot, forward it to web design team! It IS a bug! And it would effectively eliminate the submissions of undetected malware for 60% of what people are sending in!
