Hi Miller,
Thank you for the information. We will help you with this issue. We request you to reset your browser (Internet explorer) and delete add-ons. Please check and uninstall the unused, recently installed unknown program from your control panel. Thank you. Feel free to contact us for further assistance. Komal, AVG Customer Care.

After a fresh install of Win7 on a new HDD, I had a weird experience with IE. (Note: normally I have opendns setup as my DNS lookup but hadn't done that yet.)

I typed in an incorrect URL, openoffic.org instead of openoffice.org, and saw a couple redirections and then a new window popped up with a message saying my computer might be infected with a virus and to call 855-707-6272. I knew that this was not a good webpage/site and used task controller to shut down IE after making a screen shot of the message.

I tried to search the community forum with this phone number but got no hits.
Would this be something Link Scanner should / could detect?

I couldn't figure out how to put the URLs I believe are involved in this post with them disabled so I've pasted them into an image of the popup web page (but no upload option to share with you.)

I don't think I'm actually infected with anything (AVG hasn't complained) but this was definetly weird.

Thank you for following up with me. Sorry for the delayed respnse.
