What is "superfish" and how do I remove it?

Tammy, For removal info have you 'googled' remove superfish?..
No AV product is capable of providing you with 100% protection although AVG are always working 24/7.

Does this effect only Lenovo cpu's or all? I just had the AVG Removal pop up, bjt i wanted to make sure this was a real threat. I use a Toshiba laptop

Hi Gino,
Yes, only Lenovo Computers.
Thanks

Just had to say…this is my first visit to the Support Center…and also the first time EVER I've actually found the answer to a question…Yay!  I have a Toshiba laptop too, hopefully the pop-up won't continue…thanks!

AVG is detecting SuperFish, and "removing" it each time I start my computer. This afternoon/evening, it went from one detection to too many to show (and would not let me scroll down the list for some reason).
Removing it is not quite enough if it is still there upon restart.

Hi Lyn,
I am sorry for missunderstanding, but popup doesn't say your computer is infected it just informs about threat .
Thanks

Hi Paul,
In order to analyze it please provide us with GMER and AVG scan result export.
Thanks

I know it has something to do with ads. When I go to a site, it almost always comes up with "waiting for www.superfish.com" or some other ad name. It's really bogging down my computer. I need to find a way to permanently remove it if possible.

Zbynek,
That is not correct.  I don't have a Lenovo computer, and AVG just told me I have Superfish on my computer. What's going on?
