I pasted a long list of email addresses (exported from my email program) into the anti-spam whitelist, and got a message saying "the format is invalid". I found it frustrating that there was no indidication as to which address was causing a problem, or what the issue was.
I solved this by removing some addresses which contained one of the following characters;
:,=+
However, those characters are apparently all allowed (I checked just now with a dummy email). It would help if AVG would not just say that the format is invalid, but also say which address is causing a problem, and what the issue is.
