It is still not clear ! If I click on deep scan in first picture AVG does a full scan no other options available for it. If I tick generate report it does not give any options as to what it reports…I do not know how the deep scan report gets linked to the report file, their are no options. There is clearly something I am missing, which is why I wanted you to do a series of screenshots for me. It would also be beneficial if AVG could say how to save a log file, but it has nothing. Programs for antimalware like Malwarebytes produce an easily accessible file at the end of a scan but for some reason AVG/Avast makes it very difficult. Can you help me further ? In case you are interested I did update the programme so now have the two AVGUI.EXE files and the deep scan did not show any errors. Its a pity that for people like myself it is impossible to generate a report
I've been trying to get an answer for this and all I'm not finding anything of use. Are you all seriously saying that if you set the program to do a deep scan and then shut down, there's no way to see what the results are? I know for a fact that if I don't shut the system down, it comes up telling me what was quarantined etc. There's seriously no way to do this? Why can't I just go into the program and tell it to show me the results of the last scan? I've already gone into the directory where you all say the report would be and I'm not seeing it. I don't want to wade through a bunch of txt files, I just want it to tell me did it or did it NOT find anything. There's no file called "deep system scan." I PAID for this program, and I'm REALLY feeling like I flushed my money straight down the toilet the more I use it. I really regret paying for it more and more, because of foolishness like this.
I use AVG free and I am slowly going mad. After a scan is completed could someone explain in detail where the text scan results can be found ? I am using "AVG Antivirus Free". Thanks.
Hi Michael,
Our senior team is still investigating about this issue. Once we get an update, we will answer to your post.
Thank you for your patience.
Thanks to Wayne and Avinash. I sorted it out in the end. All I needed to do was put a tick in the check box to generate a report file, that is all. I ticked the box also for the other scans.
As for the suggestion from Avinash regarding remote assistance I would NEVER allow remote assistance from any company even if it was from the head of Microsoft !
By the way how is the investigation into the two AVGUI.EXE in task manager situation progressing ?
Michael, I apologize that you had to write us multiple times about these instructions. Unfortunately, we can not upload screenshots from our end.
I have sent an email with instructions to get connected with our remote assistance team. Please follow those instructions to get in touch with them and they will enable scan reports in AVG settings.

>I do not know how the deep scan report gets linked to the report file.
The name will be generated automatically. Default is: "Full system scan"
>It would also be beneficial if AVG could say how to save a log file,
In the second pic you posted, it tells you where the report files are saved.
The path shown is in blue, which indicates that it is a link. If you click on
that link it will open Windows Explorer at that path. You can then manipulate
the report files as desired - copy, move, edit, etc.
The default settings and options shown are for the average user, without
burdening them with lots of advanced settings which can be confusing.
Some advanced options for each type of scan can be found in the "Geek" area
of the Settings. Open the Settings menu. Click on the "Search" box at the top
right. Enter: Geek:Area and press Enter. This will open advanced settings.
Scroll down the list until you come to the Scans section.
Look for the Deep Scan settings that follow.

Sorry if our instructions were not clear. From the screenshots you shared, you are already at the 'generate report' option.
Choose for which scan would you like to generate the report and tick 'generate report'.
