Please clarify whether it is a network drive that you're attempting to access & share us the screenshot of the message that you receive for better clarity.
Meanwhile, if you suspect that AVG is causing the issue, please disable AVG protection temporarily to check & let us know.
Also, clarify whether you're connected to internet through AVG Secure VPN.
while attempting to open a small partition (Z:) on the disk (C:)

It is not a network drive. It is a small partition obtained by reducing the system disk (C:) through the utility "MiniTool Partition Wizard" together with
1) right button on Computer icon
2)click Management
3)click Disk Management
4) right button on "PAYROLL (Z:)
5)click open?
