This Might be happened due to the installation of the AVG Secure Browser update. You must have check the option to opt-out from installing the AVG web browser during the update visit this site (https://dgcustomerfirst.blog/) .Once try this AVG HTML file > properties > change > select Adobe PDF reader.

Please right click on AVG HTML file > properties > change > select Adobe PDF reader.

I had the same issue - If you delete the AVG secure browser it solves the problem and you get your PDFs back

Check if your AVG Secure Browser is recently updated which might have caused this issue. Make sure you opt-out from installing the AVG web browser during the update from the website [website removed]. This would solve this issue easily.

this seems ridiculous to me?? can someone please explain why I would keep the AVG secure browser installed when it prevents me from downlaoding PDF's which I use all of the time??

And that browser was installed by stealth which is also very annoying!!

AVG can you please convince me why I should continue my subscription??

Hi Alok,
I have the same problem as Gaik, but when I do the actions you propose, I do not have Abode PDF reader. I only have Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. Is that the same as Abode PDF reader.

Please advice how can I automatically change back from AVG HTML DOCUMENT to PDF files again.

Hi Summer,

AVG Secure browser will get installed along with an update of AVG Antivirus/AVG Internet Security program.
A dialogue box will appear which will have check boxes to install our browser and make it as a default.
These boxes will be checked by default. If user click on "continue" the browser will get installed and will be the default.

I would like to inform that AVG programs will not be installed on your PC without your consent.

To check your subscription details, please contact us from a different post for further assistance.

AVG Secure browser will get installed along with an update of AVG Antivirus FREE or AVG Internet Security.
