Why are 8 processes in task manager eating my ram

I have 8 avg processes which eat my ram and are slowing my pc WHY DO I NEED 3 AVGUI.exe PROCESSES and 5 other avg processes I repaired it nothing changed, uninstalled and then 2 other avgui.exe processes came… I need answer before i change this ram eater of antivirus
