Why are my scheduled scans not running?

Hello Sue,
I understand your concern. Your computer should be turned on at the time of the scheduled scan, or else the schedule scan will be skipped.
I would also like to inform you that "Scan Status" will get updated only if you run a scan by clicking on "Scan computer" on the main interface and not for any other scans like Schedules scan, deep scan, and file or folder scan.
Best regards,
Alok.

I have set up a basic scan to happen every day and a deep scan to happen once a week.  However these seem not to be happening as the interface tells me the computer was last scanned 3 months ago!  What on earth is going on and why are these scans not running?  I have deliberately scheduled them for when the computer is switched on (i.e. not overnight when it's off) but at times when I'm not usually busy.

Thank you for your time for writing this to us Sue,
I completely understand your concern. You have used AVG older/previous version for the long time which is why their features seem to be familiar/easy to you, it applies to all the electronic/software/application. AVG Internet Security now comes with new Webcam Protection and Ransomware Protection features to secure the personal files and the private life, which might not be possible to add in the previous version.
However, you can submit a product feedback form here, it will reach to our development team and they will definitely look into your suggestions.
Best regards,
Alok.

Thank you for your explanation Alok.  I have to say, though, that I think the Scan Status not recognising scheduled scans is very misleading.  I agree with all the other comments that the latest versions of AVG are not nearly as good as the earlier ones.  The impression I'm getting is that the adverse reactions are similar to the way I felt when I bought a new computer with Windows 10 preinstalled.  This was that in an attempt to make things 'easier' and 'simpler', many of the earlier choices about how one's computer performs have been eliminated, with far too much now automated.  My response to Windows 10 was to get a professional company to remove it and reinstall Windows 7.  My choice regarding AVG might be to stop using it in favour of a different anti-virus programme.  This is something I'd be reluctant to do as I've been very happy with AVG for a number of years.
