Philip, There should always be the option (may not be as clear as install, but should be there) to not install it. Please provide AVG with a screenshot (AVG Signal Blog | Online Security, Privacy & Performance) if it happens again.

I have had this problem a few times. Constantly installing itself AGAIN AND AGAIN. Just uninstall the c**p bloated anti-virus spamware is my advice.
During installation of AVg, I checked to not have the toolbar installed. Now, every ten minutes or so, it automatically opens the download dialog, asking to download and install. I clcik cancel and ten minutes later it's there again! What can I do to stop this all together from happening?
