Why Does AVG Keep asking if I want to buy a product I already bought?

First off, I thought I was purchasing something else, but it turned out it was just the driver updater.  I assumed it would automatically update, but a few weeks later the ad came up asking me to pay for the same thing.  I then saw I had to download and install so I did.  I ran it.  A few days later (today) it runs the ad again and says I have 17 drivers out of date.  I go to run the driver updater and it asks me for money again!  I either have it or I don't.  This is enough frustration to make me unload the whole app.  If I have the extension, it should never ask me to pay for it again.  What's up with that?
