Why does avg open and become so huge it won't fit on my screen?

If you have standard resolution it should fit your screen, screenshot (http://kb.avg.com/articles/en_US/How_to/How-to-create-a-screenshot/) could help us understand. What you mean by "it won't upgrade"?

I have purchased AVG, and now it opens so huge it won't fit on my screen AND it won't upgrade.
