Despite repeated attempts to respond to an email about my failed subscription, AVG simply continues to ignore me. Having spent a lot of time searching, the only phone number they publish for phoning from the UK does NOT work. Internet searches show many people have had the same poor (non existent) customer care service.
I had cancelled my subscription for one of their services by going into my AVG account. Nevertheless they still claimed payment from my credit card although last years subscription was still active. I have uninstalled the software but, despite taking only a minute or two to sign up for a service, hidden in their latest T&C’s says you have to cancel a recurring payment at least 35 days before it’s due (they don’t of course tell you it is becoming due until too late to cancel under their one sided rules).
I managed to block payment for a second service by asking my bank to block, which luckily they did.
Has anyone managed to actually speak to this highly elusive software firm, and if so, how did you manage to do that?
