Why doesn't VPN work?

Hello Joe,

I regret for the inconvenience caused. Please restart the service of AVG Secure VPN from your computer. To restart the service, please open run command and type as "Services.msc". From this new services window search for Secure VPN service and right click on the service and click on restart. Please restart your computer and that should fix this issue.

I am trying out VPN.  It worked last night at one hotel.  Tonight it doesn't.  What's up with that?  Why should I buy something that's not going to work consistently?  Last night it finally came up once I was connected to the hotel's wifi.  Tonight, nothing, nada.  I tried to start it.  It just spun it's wheels apparently forever.  ??
I'm not impressed.  It took a lot of effort to get it to work in the first place and now??
