Less than an hour ago I received the following notification:

It is now about 120 minutes past 2300hrs PST and so we haven't had any update from this company for more than 48 hours, correct?

Now that certainly seems to be indicating that all the Internet criminals are suffering from horrible hangovers from having fantastic New Year festivities and so this company has found no need to update their product.

Would that be a good summary?

And I really hope we do not have the ESL students on contract come in here with their phrase book and write how this or that experience is not waht they wish me/us to have and all that …

I couldn't finish that sentence because I don't really wish to insult people who work hard, but this company is seriously reminding me of what I have studied in history classes since about junior high school - - -  greed and more greed and the customers are just so much bovine excrement to be ignored as much as possible if they get in the way of even more greed.

Then we go over to the parent company and we see that fine platform for discussing issues with matters related to Avast virus definition output and so on.

Here we have a platform that is so disgusting.

Mr. Lake, I would hope you do not leave the company for another product, because that is exactly what the executives here hope the louder complainers will do — leave — leave them alone to keep dishing out the bovine excrement and not be bothered by the likes of a Mr. Lake, or myself.

Over 48 hours and no virus definition update.  That is rather amazing.

By the way, does anyone know where we can see the 2019 list of all virus definition versions numbers can be found as a list and the dates that each version was released?  Or is that some sort of Top Secret information?

Why do you only update the virus database every 3 days for? Every other AV company updates their virus databases few times a day because new malware is always discover every day. What a shame that AVG/AVAST at one time updated their virus databases 3 to 4 times per day now every 3 to 4 days now. Please tell me why dont you update your virus database more often and why am I paying for a product that you don't update often??

Hi Damon,

We are aware of this, our virus updates are delayed and released only once per day or two. Also the information in User inferface can be wrong.
Windows users are fully protected via streming update service. Version info for these updates is not displayed in UI.
To see when did you get the latest streaming update, you can navigate to the location C:\program files\AVG\AntiVirus\defs\
You can see folders with the suffix "_stream". Open the lastest one and you can see the streaming update packages. The file that has the latest timestamp is the one which got downloaded during the very recent streaming update.

Again you have not updated the virus database for over 2 days now. I am sick and tired of the reasons that you give for the problems. This problem i have reported with many other people  for over 3 months now.

AVAST/AVG team. What is the real answer of why have you not updated the Virus Database? It is that you want people to get malware so you can charge people MORE MONEY TO REMOVE THE MALWARE?? Its beginning to a lot like your company is really a scam.

Hi Johan,

We're glad to look into this & help you.
To check the product details in your account, would you be so kind to write back to us in your own/individual post?
While writing, let us know when you receive the above provided message.

The forum is illustrative and commendable. I am the user of AVG and using this antivirus for windows 10 for 7 years. The forum of this site has helped me a lot regarding my kind of issues related to AVG. At the moment I am getting an error AVG Error 0xe0010002 (https://antivirussupportnumber.org/fix-avg-error-0xe0010002/) for a few weeks and I'm unable to fix it. Can anyone suggest regarding this issue?

Here is the latest screen shot. Im in the Pacific Time Zone so just look at the time in the lower left hand cornor.

Dinesh Krishnan as I said in an earlier post. You and your company has to end of this week to fix the problem. no more lies from you or your other co-workers.

This isn't the experience we want you to have, Damon. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused.
However, you can be rest assured that the streaming updates are applied to the program, in order to protect the computer against emerging threats.
As informed earlier, the concerned team is still working on it to fix this shortly. To ensure this, we need to check this with the next level of support.
Once we clarify this with them, we'll write back to you. We request you to allow some more time. Thank you for your understanding in advance!

Hello Damon,

We request you to click on "Menu–>Settings–>Basic Protection–>Update" and perform the virus defintions update from it.
You should be able to see whether you have the latest virus definitions update has been installed or not.
Thank you.
