Why I have I been charged when subscription is not due for renwal until June 14th?

Why have I already been charged for my subscription for 2020 -21 when the amount is not due for renewal until June 14th.  I have already made it quite clear to AVG that I was not willing to pay £99.00 for this product. If AVG are not willing to negotiate a lower subscription charge for what I consider has being a loyal AVG customer then I wish to cancel my subscription before the renewal date of June 14th!
