Why is AVG's firewall refusing to reset to default?

Please try delete files starting with fw from c:\ProgramData\AVG2015\Cfg\ folder.

Ever since I have updated to Windows 8.1, AVG has been reporting a corrupted firewall configuration. It asked me to click "Reset to default", which I did. Despite the two UAC prompts, nothing has appeared to have happened. I do not particularly want to reinstall AVG, as my disk drive is starting to fail. Is there any way to manually fix this corruption issue?
