The problem with the free antivirus is I would still need a firewall as last time I look it didn't provide this protection which would mean other than the protection built into the operating system and router there would be no firewall. I full installer is still needed.
I was very disappointed to find that to install AVG Protection pro you need to go online without protection (other than what is provided by your operating systems and broadband router) to install this product. This would totally put me off buying this product as I do not want to risk infecting my PC. I would much prefer to download the full installer(not the web installer) from the web site on another PC and save to a USB stick and install the application on the new PC before connecting to the internet. I feel people have not asked for this as they are unaware of the risks. Please don't try and convince me that this is ok as I am myself a computer technician and an unconformable with this approach of installing online.
