Hi Vin,
Wi-Fi Security allows you to scan your network for problems with the router, encryption, Wi-Fi, and connection. When this action is complete, the app advises you whether the network is safe and notifies you of potential threats.
Are you getting this option in your AVG program or it directs you to AVG Secure VPN?

Updating your router’s firmware is an important security measure to help protect your router against the latest threats. Most modern routers allow you to enable notifications to prompt you when the manufacturer makes patches and updates to the router’s firmware available. Some manufacturers may even push the update automatically to your hardware, so you don’t have to do anything. However, there are some routers (https://mycoles.onl/) that have updates within the settings option. In this case, the user has to make sure that the firmware is manually updated regularly.
I have just purchased AVG antivirus ultimate on my Mobile
Wi-fi security checks my router and then gives me an option to connect to my VPN
Does this mean that my router is on the VPN now and therefore anything on my network is protected? (eg if I login on my laptop)
As you can see it finishes scanning the network then gives me the option of connecting the network to the VPN that I had already activated on my phone…
Am I correct that this puts the whole network on the VPN, therefore any device I log into my network with will be within the VPN protected network?

We are sorry for the confusion, Vin.
When you accept the option "Connect to VPN", the network connection which is already scanned will be connected to your phone VPN.
The router won't be included in the VPN. Only your mobile device will be protected by VPN.
I already understand the concept of a VPN…
My question relates to the following detail:
1) The VPN is connected solely to my phone
2) The AVG on my phone does a check of my router
3) The AVG on my phone THEN OFFERS to connect router to my VPN (this is key to my question)
my question is … given all of the FACTS above… does this mean if I accept for it to connect to my VPN (that my phone is currently connected to ONLY)… that after accepting to connect then (heres my question still not answered) DOES THIS MEAN THAT ANY DEVICE, INCLUDING MY LAPTOP WILL NOW BE INCLUDED IN VPN PROTECTION?
Do you understand?

Vin, let me explain the concept of VPN.
The online privacy of the device is protected when you have AVG Secure VPN is installed on it.
It doesn't protect the router device.
It secures the internet connection to which the Windows, Android, Mac or iOS device is connected.
