Wifi connection error message: wifi doesn't have valid IP configuration

Hi Chris,

We're glad to look into this & help you.
From your description, it seems that few network settings needs to be configured/modified. Please clarify whether you experience this issue with a specific wifi network or irrespective of networks.
Upon researching, we found this Microsoft forum regarding this topic.
Meanwhile, if AVG Secure VPN is connected, you can disconnect it & check.
However, there cannot be multiple security software on the same system, as they would compete for resources & conflict with each other. Hence, we'd suggest you to uninstall McAfee from control panel for better experience.

Hi, my Windows 10, Lenovo twice now got the message "Wi-fi doesn't have a valid IP configuration". Last time, I uninstalled and reinstalled AVG and it solved the issue. Now, a few months later, I have the same problem. is there a windows or wi-fi adapter setting that I can change to stop encountering this problem, and avoid having to keep uninstalling AVG - (or is it related to all the aggressive McAfee products that came pre-installed?)
