Hello Erick,
I understand your concern. Please do not worry, AVG resident shield component will take care of this king of malware present in .mp3 files. Each file which you are opening in your computer will be scanned by AVG and make sure unsafe files are blocked.
Hello
I just read from this forum https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/140812-can-an-mp3-file-contain-malware/ about some malicious/malware that come from .mp3 or .mp4 or .avi file
I want to ask could AVG still detect this kind of malware even if I don't run any scanning in my PC ? Maybe file shield or behavior shield with default setting could detect it if I open this kind of file and it contain malware. Or should I setting something in my AVG so it can detect this ?
So AVG will detect this kind of malware with it's default setting ? So I don't need to change anything in my setting ?
Erick, thank you for providing the screenshot. You don't have to change the settings, it will scan the audio and video files when you open it.
Yes, you do not need to changed any settings and AVG will detect and remove this kind of malware automatically.

I assume file shield is the one that can detect and remove malware present in audio or video file if we are opening that kind of file. But if I check the default setting of file shield, you could see pic below
The default setting only scan document when opening file. Is it still like you said that I don't need to change any setting from AVG and it will scan audio or video file when I open it and remove this kind of malware ? Or I should change any setting in file shield ?
