the free version will not finish installing. it seems locked up. when i check the app it says there are no components installed and the grey box says install in progress with a progress bar that is stopped at about 95%. Won't buy a paid version if the free version will not even install. the grey box has been like this for a few hours now. what is up?

This isn’t expected behavior. We’ll work through fixing this together. Please remove AVG program completely as per the steps mentioned here. Then reinstall AVG Free Antivirus by following the steps mentioned here .

i tried to uninstall the program. it simply comes back with a window that says the installer is already running and to try again later.
