It seems that I spoke too soon.
Today Fax and Scan will not complete a scan as per original problem.
I tried repeating the 'fix' by turning off AVG and attempting to RESTORE the file but it will not permit but shows a window stating some parts of file have been restored.
Tried rebooting the PC and printer but same result

AVG Internet Security flagged a serious threat on mp PC on 20 AUG 18 and I quarantined it.
Now, my Win 10 Fax and Scan programme runs OK but will not complete a SCAN citing a 'problem'
I have update my printer software and drivers and spent hours trying to fix this problem which could be related to the Quarantined file IDP.Generic. AVG will not let me restore this file and using the printer scan programme results in images that I cannot select for emailing.
Also, cannot find info on-line to repair corrupted FAX and SCAN
Any ideas?

Thanks Vishnu, that worked.
The problem file was the last one and it restored OK. The one before it would not restore even with AVG 'Off' and is almost certainly 'bad'
I have added the last file to the Eceptions and the Windows Fax and Scan is now working correctly.
