Hi…I'm not technical at all…so how do I solve this issue (see topic line)?  I looked in the community but the first 5 or 6 links were 2 yrs old or more and none had the solution to the problem.

Please try running the program update once to check, if it helps. 
Open AVG program - Menu - Settings - Update - Program update.

Please let us know version of AVG that is installed on your computer (Open AVG - Menu - About). 
Also, let us know when (at what instance) you receive this notification. 
Meanwhile, please ensure that the AVG program has the latest patches applied to it.
Open AVG program - click on refresh icon beside virus definitions, at bottom right corner - Restart computer after successful update & check.

Hi,

AVG version = 22.8.3250
Virus definitions version = 220920-2
UI version = 1.0.674

I have recd the notification the last 3 times I logged in first thing in the morning.  Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (today) morning.  I thought it would go away but it is not, so I contacted you.

Updated AVG program as requested.
