Win32:Malware-gen

Hi Ken,

We are sorry to hear this.

Please share us the screenshot of the popup.

Did you try to delete the infected file from the File location?

Keep us posted.

Hello,

I have the same issue as Ken Wu and it started happening around the same date.  I'll repeat Ken's issue: "a message pop up every time when I have switch on my pc to saying that a file has been infected with Win32:Malware-gen. and has been moved to quarantine box. But when I open the Quarantine box and it is empty. Please advise how to resolve this problem".

I attached a screen shot of the warning.

Please advise how to fix.

Thanks,

Hi

Hi Doug,

This isn't the usual behavior of AVG program.
Usually, AVG quarantines files if it is found to be malicious & the file would be available in Quarantine (if the file is available on your local machine).
In this regard, we'd suggest you to repair the program once. After repairing ensure that the program has the latest patches applied to it. To do so : click on refresh icon beside virus definitions that is available in the homepage of AVG program & restart the computer after successful completion of update.
Please try the above step & let us know if it helps.
