I have the same issue, OCControl.service.exe on my alienware today…  Have tried adding the path to the exceptions list (ensuring fie shield is ticked), no luck.  As well as re installing AWCC from Dell + reinstall of AVG with the usual reboots inbetween.  Nothing worked.  Actually considering dumping AVG for alternative software.

Hi,

I restarted my computer a few minutes ago and as soon as I unlocked it AVG pop ups came on to the screen regarding a threat Win32:malware-gen in XtuService.exe and the Alienware OC control service. Scanning my pc does nothing and the AVG pop ups keep appearing. When I try to open quarantine nothing appears.

What do I do?

I am running version 21H1 of Windows (build 19043.1288). Internet security is version 21.8.3202.

I think this is more likely to be an issue with OC Controls than malware. But I am not certain.

Thank you for sharing the screenshot, Alan.
