I have multiple networks listed in AVG and have switched all of them to Private. Still no connection to Winamp.
I went into network settings and disabeled an onboard Wi-Fi adapter that I'm not using to try and simplify what I am seeing in AVG. There are many more networks listed there vs what I see in Windows settings. Does that mean anything?
Appreciate your efforts in working towards fixing the issue, Doug.
Usually, the networks to which your computer has connected earlier will be listed in the network profiles.
Sometimes, this might happen if few firewall settings are not modified in AVG program to allow the app to access internet.
Please follow the below steps to modify those settings & let us know if it helps :
Open AVG Internet Security - Menu - Settings - Full protection - Enhanced firewall - Enable 'internet connection sharing mode'.
Later click on System rules in the same page & enable 'Allow windows file & printer sharing, remote desktop connections' (1st two options).
Hello Douglas,
We would like to know which component of AVG Internet Security is blocking the connection.
Refer this article and follow the steps as mentioned under 'Disable individual AVG Antivirus components' topic.
After disabling each component check the connection with Winamp app.
Let us know which component of AVG is blocking the connection.
Thank you.
I am having difficulty connecting Monkeymote to control my install of Winamp on my PC. I have tried working with app permissions in the firewall, but this doesn't resolve it. If I turn off the advanced AVG protection and rely on built-in Windows firewall protection, I immediately gain access to Winamp via Monkeymote and can maintain connection/control indefinitely and reconnect without issue.
Can anyone offer advice as to why AVG is blocking the app and how to ensure this connection?
That's good to hear, Dough.
You are welcome.
That did the trick. Thank you!
