Your patience is much appreciated.
Thank you.
I have successfully installed the 30 day trial of McAfee, so the clock is now ticking.
I have the same issue. Was running Windows 10 and everything was OK but it auto updated to a new build this morning (1511 - 10586.29). The dll is in System32 where it should be but AVG can't see it. I had a similar issue with Realplayer but an uninstall / reinstall fixed this. I have tried this with AVG and no joy.
Peaple,
Same with Windows 10 X64, is necessary install the versions X64 and X86 of the C++ Update 4.
I have the same problem "Windows 10 AVG exe will not run due to missing MSVCP100 dll". How do I fix the problem? I have asked Microsoft but they haven't got back to me. Please please help!
I had this problem with AVG Free when I first upgraded to Windows 10. An uninstall and reinstall fixed it. Then, there was the big update around January/February this year, and the problem reappeared. I tried to uninstall and reinstall, but the computer threw a complete wobbly to the extent I thought I had lost everything! Three reboots later, I eventually got into Windows. I still had the error message, but I didn't care!
Then, inexplicably, a couple of months ago I realised I had turned my computer on and AVG was working! I had done nothing to change this.
Sadly, today I have suffered the "birthday update". Lo and behold, the dreaded "MSVCP100.dll is missing" rears its head again. For about half a dozen programs. I pick one at random, reinstall that, and reboot. That fixed the problem for all programs - except, you've guessed it, AVG!
What is going on?
This has just started happenning, I've attempted re-install of AVG to resolve and followed removal advice on AVG etc but still no luck. MS site has this issue being discussed, but difficult to decide what to do, anyone help?
Please try to install the C++ Distibutables files under the link : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145 and check whether the issue persists.
Thank you.
