Windows 10 won't update due to AVG. It's uninstalled and it's still blocking Windows 10 updates. I've tried the clean and cleaner tool from AVG, to no avail. I've tried IObit Uninstaller after reinstalling AVG again, since this removes left-over files and still it's blocking updates.
As stated, I've tried the tools from AVG, to no avail. That said, I did find some old files hiding on my disk in %appdata% folder and (various) program files folders (scattered on multiple drives). It baffles me Microsoft has chosen this path without the possibility to clean it for me, but that's just how it is. I thank you for the help, I wouldn't have found the old files without your hint.
Thank you for updating the status, Wouter.
If we can be of more help, please let us know.
Hello Wouter.
We regret the inconveniene caused.
It could be due to traces of an older version AVG.
We'd request to run AVG Clear and Remover tools once again. Then, search your hard disk for 'avgui.exe' or 'avastui.exe' to remove them if found.
Once removed, try to update Windows and you should be able to.
