May I ask how did you confirm that the issue was due to AVG program?
It is not possible for our program to remove or change a windows user profile.
When I logged on to two different laptops running Win10 and AVG, I got a blank, black Desktop with only a Recycle Bin. Internet research indicates my user profile has been corrupted and directed me to create a new one.
This is exactly what happened in April 2018. AVG/Avast Behavior Shield screwed up the Windows 10 update with the same end result. Is this happening to anyone else, and how do I fix this?
