I have used AVG Free for many years. I have now complely uninstalled the product and will not recommend its use. I am unable to re-install it. since my last windows 10 update. I have tried all the suggested fixes and they have not worked.
Got the error messages about the MS Visual C Redistributable dlls missing.Tried reinstalling AVG Free to no avai.Uninstalled through control panel.Downloaded and ran the AVG Remover tool.After the restart,manually deleted the AVG Remover folder in the C drive of Mycomputer.Determined the OS file to install AVG Antivirus Free. Clicked the link below to install AVG Antivirus Free (64 bit):http://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/AVG_Antivirus_Free_x64_693.exe. Still receiving the same error.
